Investor communications that stay personal and stay on record

For the general partner who will not let an unreviewed email reach an LP, the trade-off between speed and control goes away. Every draft waits for a partner, every send lands on the contact's timeline, and nothing goes out in bulk.

For venture funds, CommsOperator is the relationship layer, not a mass mailer. It gives the fund a shared inbox across partners' mailboxes, a CRM with LP, founder, and co-investor pipelines, synchronization with Decile Hub for pipelines and prospects, with people and organizations looked up on demand, AI drafts that a partner reviews and sends one to one under their own name, and a public booking link for thesis feedback calls. Chief in Tech Capital runs 1,300 relationships and 437 deals on it.

What usually goes wrong

  • The LP conversation is in one partner's mailbox, the founder thread is in another's, and nobody has the whole picture.
  • The fund platform knows the pipeline and the mailbox knows the history. They never meet.
  • AI drafting would save hours, but one wrong send to an LP is not something you take back.
  • Booking a feedback call with a founder takes ten emails.
How it works

What changes for the team

  1. 1

Every partner's relationships in one view

Shared and delegated mailboxes come into one workspace, with full access for partners and read-only access for operations staff. Each email lands on the contact's timeline without anyone logging it.

    Shared inbox

  2. 2

Decile Hub and the inbox stay in step

Pipelines, stages, and prospects sync from Decile Hub, people and organizations are looked up on demand, and AI drafts can read that venture context, including files and events, when a partner asks for a first draft.

    CRM

  3. 3

Draft with AI, send as a partner

Draft-for-review only: a partner reads every draft and sends it one to one under their own name. Policy packs can require a second approver, ban topics, and add required disclaimers on the investor campaigns.

    AI agents

  4. 4

    Feedback calls book themselves

A public booking page on the partner's Outlook calendar for thesis feedback or founder office hours, with the meeting summary written to the relationship record afterwards.

    Appointments

What you end up with

  • A complete timeline per LP, founder, and co-investor, without anyone logging it
  • Dual approval on investor drafts, enforced by policy pack rather than by memory
  • Fund data in Decile Hub, communications in CommsOperator, linked
  • Meeting summaries and next steps on the relationship record

Frequently asked questions

Can we run LP updates as a campaign?

You can, but for investor communications we recommend one-to-one drafts that a partner approves. Policy packs can require dual approval and required disclaimers on those campaigns, so the safer path is also the reviewed path.

Is Decile Hub required?

No. It is an optional integration for funds that use it as their system of record. Without it, the CRM and the inbox work on their own.

Does it replace Outlook?

No. The fund's mailboxes stay in Microsoft 365. CommsOperator connects to them, builds the timeline, and holds the approval queue; partners keep using Outlook whenever they prefer.
