In short: one cookie keeps you signed in for 7 days, local storage remembers your theme and view settings, and Microsoft Clarity records usage with advertising and analytics storage denied by default. Widgets on customer sites keep one identifier so a returning visitor's chat continues. No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. In short boxes are a plain-language guide. If a summary and the full text differ, the full text applies.
We keep this short because there is little to say: CommsOperator sets no advertising cookies, runs no cross-site tracking, and does not share browsing data with ad networks.
Website
In short: the website remembers your light or dark theme and loads Microsoft Clarity to show us which pages work, with advertising and analytics storage denied by default.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Local storage | Remembers your light or dark preference | Until cleared |
| Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) | Analytics cookies | Aggregate page usage and interaction recordings to find usability problems. Loaded with advertising and analytics storage denied by default | Up to 1 year |
Application
In short: one strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in for 7 days. Local storage and the service worker cache make the app faster and are cleared on sign-out or update. Clarity is present here too, on the same terms as the website.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| connect.sid | Strictly necessary cookie | Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only and Secure | 7 days |
| Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) | Analytics cookies | The application is served from the same shell as the website, so Clarity is present here too, with advertising and analytics storage denied by default | Up to 1 year |
| Query cache and preferences | Local storage | Speeds up the interface and remembers view settings; cleared on sign-out | Session or until sign-out |
| Service worker cache | Cache storage | Offline shell and faster loads for the installed app | Until updated or cleared |
Embeddable widgets on customer sites
In short: a widget keeps one identifier so a returning visitor's chat continues. No advertising identifiers. The site embedding the widget covers it in its own consent notice.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Widget session identifier | Local storage | Continues a chat conversation for a returning visitor and links it to the right workspace | Until cleared |
Widgets set no advertising identifiers. The site embedding a widget is responsible for its own consent notice covering the widget's storage.
Controlling cookies
In short: your browser can block or clear everything here; blocking the session cookie stops sign-in. Any tracker blocker stops Clarity, or ask us at privacy@commsoperator.com to exclude your visits.
Your browser can block or delete cookies and local storage; blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in. Microsoft Clarity can be blocked with any tracker blocker, and you can ask us to exclude your visits by writing to privacy@commsoperator.com.
